Body talk FAQ
How to Prepare for a BodyTalk Session?
Make a list of your complaints. Write down the symptoms that have been nagging for days, months, and years. Nothing is seemingly too insignificant or vague: tiredness, pains, loss of physical functioning, persistent emotions for example; angry or sad feelings around someone you love or aversion to certain substances could all qualify. Just think of the things in your life that irritate or slow you down - occasionally - or always!
What Procedures are used in a BodyTalk Session?
A brief medical history is taken, identifying particular symptoms, pains or chronic health issues. Fully clothed you will be asked to rest face up, on a massage table. You will be kept informed of the formulas being used. Most people feel relaxed as they are asked to breathe deeply while the BodyTalk practitioner gently taps on the head and sternum (heart complex). The duration of a session is not indicative of the quality of the session or the results that occur. Because your innate wisdom is dictating the session, you can be assured of receiving exactly what is needed at that particular time for the enhanced communication and balancing to take place. A BodyTalk session itself usually lasts between 15-45 minutes. Your innate wisdom will dictate when the session is complete and establish a time when you need to return for a follow-up session.
Can anything go wrong during a session?
The BodyTalk System does not cause harm. If a technique is incorrectly done, it simply means there will be no result or change. It will not make the situation worse. Your body’s own innate wisdom is running the session.
What can I expect after a BodyTalk session?
Immediately after a session you may, in fact, feel little. Encouraged to drink lots of water following a session, for a day or two you may need to use the washroom often. Toxins that have blocked the natural, healthy flow of body processes are being secreted.
During these first few hours, you may notice some awareness or feelings in parts of your body you hadn’t noticed for a while. You may enjoy some new clarity, deep relaxation, or subtle changes in overall functioning. When we begin to feel good again, we blessedly and quickly forget how bad pain and discomfort can be. Moving so quickly and effortlessly into a healthy functioning body, some clients simply forget that the BodyTalk session they had only the week before is the reason why even chronic conditions have disappeared for good.
Like anyone, BodyTalk professionals like to hear of the improvements and shifts that happen for you!
How does BodyTalk work?
BodyTalk uses the principles of consciousness based medicine and your body’s innate wisdom to help it promote healing on all levels. BodyTalk practitioner finds out what your body needs to rebalance the flow of healthy energy.
A BodyTalk practitioner is trained to silently ask your body a series of questions outlined on an extensive Protocol and Procedure chart and using a muscle reflex technique. Your body knows what needs to heal and guides the priority and the healing route to take.
In BodyTalk, your body’s choice is ALWAYS honored. The sequence to be addressed is determined by your body’s own innate intelligence or wisdom. To promote faster healing, the proper order of linking is most important.
A special technique – lightly tapping on your head to repair and your heart complex is used to restore the communication systems within your body/mind. This links those parts that your body has prioritized.
Healing happens when parts of your body are re-synchronized and communicating with each other.
Your body knows how to heal itself – it just needs to remember how!

What are the Balancing principles of BodyTalk?
Ask the Body- Biofeedback system provides a Yes/No communication between your body’s innate wisdom and your practitioner, indicating what part to balance and when.
Linking- Good health depends on optimum communication amongst all the systems of your body. The practitioner asks your body which organs, endocrine glands, body parts, or techniques etc needs to be linked to facilitate healing and renew vigor.
The Tapping Procedure - One of the most important developments in the BodyTalk System, gently tapping on the body to get it to focus on healing has been part of some indigenous holistic systems, such as yoga, for centuries. Tapping the head (brain) to ‘fix’ the faulty communication and the sternum (heart complex) to ‘store’ the fix facilitates the body’s own ability to restore and maintain its optimum balance.
Exaggerated Breathing - Exaggerated breathing helps your body locate and target the corrections. Inhaling scans the higher frequencies of your body/mind including thoughts and emotions, while exhaling scans the denser frequencies – tissue, muscle and bone.
How does BodyTalk address injury and illness?
Thanks to the Innate Wisdom or Intelligence of Your Body!
BodyTalk is based on the simple, profound principle that your body is capable of healing itself at all levels. Natural healing is automatically initiated when you cut your finger or twist your ankle. The stresses of daily living can compromise your innate healing ability and lead to degeneration and illness. BodyTalk reminds your body/mind to direct its healing to these neglected or compromised areas.

What Professional Qualifications Does a BodyTalk Professional Hold?
A Certified BodyTalk Practitioner has completed the foundation coursework BodyTalk Fundamentals of the BodyTalk System, re-monitored that coursework, and satisfied the standards of a Certified BodyTalk Instructor – in both a written and a practical exam – that they have mastered the material and the techniques of the System. Many Certified BodyTalk Practitioners are licensed practitioners in other modalities and have integrated BodyTalk into their practice. Still others (including acupuncturists, chiropractors, MDs, and physical therapists) now practice BodyTalk almost exclusively, because they have discovered the results are permanent and fast.
A BodyTalk Practitioner in Training has completed the foundation workshops (BodyTalk Fundamentals) and is encouraged to register in advanced courses to enhance and expand skills. Diligently working toward certification through hands-on experience, a Practitioner in Training stays in contact with the wider BodyTalk community and receives the benefits of ongoing BodyTalk sessions from other practitioners in order to move toward greater personal healing on the mental, physical and emotional levels.
BodyTalk Access Technicians are certified in a one-day ‘hands-on’ workshop to do BodyTalk balancing through the Access process. Five powerful techniques are learned which enhance wellness and balance the body: Balancing the Cortices, Switching, Hydration, Body Chemistry, the Reciprocals and Fast Aid. Certified BodyTalk Technicians often take the next step - to become BodyTalk Practitioners - as they happily witness the results in their clients, families and friends.
Fee Structure to Clients: The standard session fee for all three levels of BodyTalk Professionals may vary. Qualifications of the BodyTalk Practitioner (In Training, Certified, or Practitioners with advanced studies to PaRama level), combined with licenses in other professional modalities, plays a role. Specialized BodyTalk training, - the growing demand for Animal Talk - and regional fiscal constraints can also factor in.
What is Body talk?
BodyTalk is a simple, safe and astonishingly effective system of integrative health care. BodyTalk is a holistic approach to healing, based on proven principles of energy medicine. The body is a complex ecosystem with a delicate balance between physiological biochemical functions, emotional and mental interactions, environmental influences, and hereditary and genetic restrictions. BodyTalk helps synchronize the body’s natural functions - to achieve and maintain healing and growth on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
The BodyTalk System seeks to address the "whole person". This means that no aspect of the human psyche can be overlooked, be it emotional, physical or environmental. In BodyTalk, we have developed a whole-healthcare system that supports and promotes the wellbeing of any person, animal, or plant.
BodyTalk understands the profound influence the psychology of the body has on our health. Instead of focusing on the symptom, BodyTalk finds the underlying causes of illness by addressing the whole-person and their whole-story.
The BodyTalk techniques provide insights to the areas of your body that need attention. What might seem like an obvious problem to you is not necessarily the one your body wants to address first.
This is the beauty of BodyTalk. It respects the body's own needs and determines your body's priorities for healing. Then with the use of a variety of non-invasive techniques, BodyTalkers refocus your body's natural healing response to establish better communication within the body.
